Dear Mrs. Townsend

As a teacher, you offer comfort often, but when a student reaches out to offer comfort of their own during your own difficult times it touches the deepest part of teachers heart.  It is a witness to the bond the develops between student and teacher when love is shared in meaningful ways throughout the learning process.  A junior student gave me the following poem when I was going through a difficult time.

Mrs. Townsend,

This world may be a cruel place,
Some of the people are too.
But know that God is out there,
Watching over you.

He doesn't care if your're strong,
Or falling apart today
He'll be there, by your side,
Or carry you all of the way.

I know this because He has carried me,
More times than I can tell
His grace has always been enough
His love and endless well.

I also want you to know,
That I care as well.
I'm always eager to give a hug,
Even after the bell.

With a Smile
Grace G.

In This Place I Have Landed

We each fall into lifes plan and order of things according to the choices we make along lifes way.  The place we land determines where we are at this present time.  We can blame others or we can simply accept responsibility for our place in life and be gratful for the moments God has graced us with; which are many.  For if we do not walk in gratitude, we will miss out on the moments of grace that wait up ahead of us along the way.  I don't have many moments left in this life, and I want to live what moments I have left as fully as I can.  I ask God to forgive me for the moments of grace he's blessed me with only for me to allow them to  pass me by unnoticed or for all the blessed moments I've not taken the time to thank him for sending my way through his grace. I have landed. By my own choices in this life; I have landed.  Lord God help me live life fully where I have landed. Thank you that I  landed in a place where I could still hear your voice and follow it.   I pray this year, Lord Jesus, you will teach me to walk in gratitude for the moments you grace me with each day. For it is ALL by your grace anyway.
